Radiator covers bespoke, made to measure

Artisan have a range of powerflue fires for homes without chimneys. Standard models are shown in our powerflue section on the left hand side of the page. They comprise fires which have been designed with a dedicated fan flue system. Until now, the choice of powerflue fires has been limited to these specific models.
Artisan are now able to supply a fan flue system for use on a range of hole in the wall fires, basket fires, cast iron fireplaces in fact almost any open fronted gas appliance.
Hole In The Wall Fires - Fan flue kit
Suitable for open hole in the wall fires eg Artisan 500 , Artisan 700, Carmello, Studio range, Vertex & Atina.
For a typical installation onto an outside wall : - Most of our hole in the wall fires have a gather supplied as standard or as an optional extra. A 900mm length of flue connects to this gather via an adapter then connects to a bend & an adjustable length to the fan unit situated on the outside wall. Four metres of cable are supplied to connect the fan unit to the electric supply. A solenoid is installed in the gas supply to ensure that the fire cannot be used unless the fan is activated.
Cost of standard flue kit described above £665 incl vat & delivery. (For complete list of components & prices see bottom of this page)

Sketch showing possible uses for the fan flue unit. Maximum run length is up to 7 metres with no more than 3 x 90 degree bends

Cast iron fireplaces & basket fires - fan flue kit
Example shows a typical installation to an ouside adjacent wall
Fires need to burn in a chamber made from fireproof materials. The example shown here is made from Teknilite. This is a lightweight fireproof material used in wood burning stoves. Teknilite fire chambers are supplied in a kit complete with a tub of fireproof cement and screws. Other materials can be used to create a fire chamber such as steel, masonry, etc. Whatever materials you use for a fire chamber, you must ensure that they comply with Building Regulations.
We can also manufacture the chamber complete with a gather in all galvanised steel, more information will follow shortly
Picture left shows the fire chamber with the gather fitted to the 5" twinwall flue system which connects to the fan flue unit on the outside wall
Studwork is fixed around the chamber & flue system ready for plasterboarding

Knauf Drywall Studwork is a steel studwork system that can be used instead of timber. Apart from generally being cheaper than timber it is quicker and neater to install. As it is non-combustible the regulation regarding keeping a minimum 50mm clearance to combustible materials does not apply as it would with timber studwork.

Knauf Plasterboard and Accessories including Metal stud and track are available from
